Thor (2011)

I had zero expectations on this movie. It was not on my must see list but since I always get to pick the movies I let my husband pick this one. It was actually not that bad. About a B-/C+ worth seeing but you can rent it, unless you have to have the 3D experience.

For those of you who did not read the comic or watch the trailer or even recall seeing a preview, this movie can best be described as Super Hero meets Roman God to form Thor. Thor losses his powers is banished to Earth. Being from Earth it seems a little harsh that this is the ultimate punishment, but I guess if I had “god like powers,” being mortal and sent to Earth would not be cool.

The thing that impressed me the most was most of the cast was little known actors (Natlie Portman excluded of course). I think we will see more of Chris Hemsworth, who played Thor, in the future.

Black Swan (2010)

This movie has a ton of previews so you all know what it was about. A dancer wants to lead in the ballet Swan Lake. The role takes its toll on her mental and physically. She really becomes another person while preparing from this role.

Natalie Portman is up for a Golden Globe for this role and rightfully so, she was amazing. Mila Kunis was also very impressive. Guys that watch this film will, for sure, walk away talking about how hot Mila Kunis is.

As for the actually movie, I am on the fence. I honestly don’t know I felt about it. It was not great and it ended leaving me a bit confused. However, I could not stop watching it and once it was over I was still thinking about it. If I had to grade it, I would say a C. It is worth watching but don’t pay theater prices, wait for the rental.

Warning: way more girl on girl love then I expected.
